Day Eleven are a 5 piece group from Tampere, Finland who combine an uncompromising attitude with a musically open mind to create a sound truly their own. This band with their roots planted in the '90s' grunge rock scene comes at you with a unique sound containing shades of the energy of punk rock, the harmony from the darker side of pop mixed with a big, in-your-face blast of heavy guitars. ”We try to take in everything we hear, and try to let out everything we can come up with”, the lead singer Janne says. ”We're keeping the creative process as carefree as possible, and that's the only way to come up with music that's original and worthwhile. You can always ponder afterwards what to do with the noise you create... it's not about over-thinking and over-analyzing”, he says. ”We're here just to make a mess and blow your minds...”

Day Eleven have recently completed the recordings for their second album with producer Jens Bogren whose previous projects include the latest albums by Katatonia , Opeth and Disco Ensemble to name but a few. Scheduled for March 14th 2007 release in Finland, the new album Sleepwalkers shows the band going for a leaner, meaner sound. "We're consciuosly trying to strip away the things that get in the way of the songs themselves, not hiding behind a wall of sound but getting right in your face this time", the band says. "After playing dozens of live shows supporting our first record, we finally learned what it means to be a real band, and I think we've found the essence of our music in the process. It's gonna be an honest, heavy rock album with a timeless twist."

The band started more than 10 years ago when the guys were enjoying their teenage years, but the actual starting point for Day Eleven was 2003. A year of 250 days spent recording and studying the sound resulted in a partnership with the independent label GBfam Records Finland . The band´s debut album Almost Over Everything was recorded and mixed over various sessions from March 2004 to March 2005, and has so far been released in Australia, Ukraine and Belarus in addition to Finland.

With the debut single Whenever You Say You Love Me from their upcoming album already getting serious airplay on major Finnish radio stations (such as YleX & Radio Rock) and the new album Sleepwalkers coming out soon, the band is looking forward to taking their show on the road and sharing their honest piece of rock music with you. Day Eleven palaa uuden albuminsa myötä rytinällä. Tummasävyistä ja monipuolista alternativerockia louhiva tamperelaisretkue päätyi äänittämään kakkoslevyään Fascination Street -studiolle Ruotsiin tuottaja Jens Bogrenin (mm. Katatonia, Opeth, Disco Ensemble) kanssa. “Esikoislevymme pitkän ja hermoja raastaneen syntyprosessin jälkeen oli selvää että seuraava levy pyritään tekemään nopeella aikataululla, hymy ja pullo huulilla. Kieltämättä debyytti saatiin kuulostamaan ajan kanssa just siltä mitä sillä hetkellä haluttiin mutta samalla särmät hioutui pois. Nykyisellä meiningillä biisit pursuaa verta ja hikeä myös studio-oloissa”, laulaja Janne Pajari kommentoi bändin fiiliksiä.

Maaliskuussa 2007 julkaistavalla Sleepwalkers-albumilla esiintyy bändi, joka ei kaihda käyttää laajaa vaikutteiden kirjoa mutta ei myöskään kumartele kuvia. Debyyttialbumin eteerinen rock on saanut tehdä tilaa myös suoraviivaisemmalle ja maanläheisemmälle tulkinnalle, ja bändin punk- ja hevivaikutteet kuuluvat vihdoin myös yleisön korviin asti. "Siinä missä esikoislevy kuulosti paikoitellen siltä kuin poppibändi yrittäis soittaa heviä, tällä kertaa me löydettiin itsestämme luontainen kaahausvaihde, joka oli päällä koko esituotannon ajan. Tää näkyi itse biisien kirjoittamisessa kuin myös asennoitumisessa soittamiseen", Janne selittää. Omat mausteensa keitokseen toi myös mm. Stam1naa ja Mokomaa aiemmin tuottanut Miitri Aaltonen, joka hoiti osan levyn äänityksistä Music Brosilla Imatralla.

Kotimaiselle GBfam Records Finlandille levyttävällä Day Elevenillä on takanaan pitkä historia joka ulottuu jäsenten lapsuusvuosiin asti. "Me ollaan soiteltu teineistä asti lähes aina samalla porukalla, ja vaikka kokoonpanojen nimet ja välillä jätkätkin ympärillä on vaihtuneet, voi rehellisesti sanoa että kaikki tää vuodesta ´94 lähtien tehty leikittely sekä työ on ollut tarpeellista kypsyttelyä nykyhetkeä varten", Janne kommentoi. Day Elevenin debyyttialbumi Almost Over Everything julkaistiin keväällä 2005, ja bändi on tehnyt julkaisun jälkeen itseään tunnetuksi kymmenillä keikoilla ympäri maata. Bändi julkaisee kakkosalbuminsa 14.3.2007. Pitkäsoittoa edeltää 14.2. julkaistava single Whenever You Say You Love Me, joka on jo soinut kiitettävästi mm. YleX:n ja Radio Rockin taajuuksilla.
